Soil and Fertilizer Research Institute

SFRI was established at Ankara on 1 March 1954. SFRI has activities and responsibilities for the sustainable soil and water management concerning the fertility of agricultural soils, environmental issues and soil reclamation problems all over the country. SFRI has substation, laboratory, greenhouses, inoculant production unit, library and computer facilities. SFRI serves the national needs in agricultural research with its significant analytical capacity and capability. The soil, plant, fertilizer and water analysis methods chosen by the Institute are used in the laboratories all over the country. Quality of the different fertilizers produced in country and imported to Turkey is controlled and confirmed. Rhizobium inoculants, rapid field test kits and automatic tensiometers is produced and marketed by the Institute.
