The aim of the institute is to contribute to the cost effective and sustainable agricultural use of the land and water resources of the middle and east Black Sea region located in the north part of Turkey. The results and recommendations of the experiments, tests and researches for getting more profitable yield in unit area and developing agricultural methods are given concerning technical staff and farmers using different publications, technical meetings and demonstrations. There is an experiment and demonstration station consist of 29.5 ha in the Çarsamba Plain which has alluvial characteristic of soils and higher agricultural potential. In addition, there is a second experiment and demonstration station consist of 14 ha in the Bafra Plain. The working area of the institute are in Samsun, Sinop, Ordu, Giresun, Trabzon, Gümüshane and Artvin provinces.
