Rural Services Konya Research Institute

Rural Services Konya Research Institute was established in 1949 in Konya-Çumra Irrigation network as "Kasinhani Irrigated Agriculture Experiment Station", in 1970 the station was transferred to the Konya-Karaaslan under the name of TOPRAKSU Research Institute that mostly carried out soil and water experiments. Since 1984, it has conducted its research works as Rural Services Konya Research Institute. The Institute, with the cooperation of State Hydraulic Works (DSI), opened a substation in Isparta-Atabey Irrigation Network on 4.7 ha of land, in Konya it has carried out the trials and demonstration works on 25 ha of land. Karapınar Research Station, consist of 13000 ha of land on which wind erosion control works had been started in 1962 and finished in 1973, was bound to the Rural Services Konya Research Institute. The working area of the institute covers the Konya, Karaman, Aksaray, Nigde, Isparta and Burdur provinces that are located in the central part of Anatolia.
